Buyer - Amazon Wholesale (New Brand Acquisition)

About The Position

Our client, a rapidly growing omnichannel marketplace seller, is looking for a Buyer to lead their new brand and distributor acquisition efforts. This role focuses on hunting, negotiating, and closing deals to acquire new brands and distributors, owning the top of the sourcing funnel and reporting directly to the owner. The business model relies on direct relationships with brands and authorized distributors to secure competitive pricing, reliable supply, and exclusivity. The Buyer will be a visible and impactful driver of commercial success, with a seat at the table for strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in Amazon FBA wholesale, reselling, or marketplace buying.
  • Proven experience running an FBA resale business or working as a buyer for an established Amazon reseller.
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing and signing brands.
  • Existing relationships with brands and distributors are required.
  • Fluency in Keepa and data analysis, with the ability to assess sales velocity, competition, and margin potential.
  • Confident communication and negotiation skills.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to assess risk and opportunity for profitable catalog growth.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience negotiating brand exclusivity or authorized reseller agreements.
  • Existing relationships across multiple consumer-product categories (grocery, beauty, hardlines, softlines).
  • Experience selling on Walmart, eBay, Temu, or other online marketplaces.
  • Familiarity with wholesale onboarding, purchasing, inventory planning, and warehouse coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Source new brands and distributors by identifying, researching, and approaching targets that fit the catalog strategy.
  • Build and maintain a strong, qualified pipeline of brand and distributor targets.
  • Lead the full sales cycle, representing the company to prospective brand partners, running outreach, discovery calls, and negotiations through to signed agreements.
  • Negotiate commercial terms including pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, and exclusivity arrangements.
  • Evaluate deal economics using tools like Keepa, margin analysis, sales velocity data, and competitive intelligence to assess product viability and ensure strong profit potential.
  • Own and maintain a clear, accurate pipeline of brand targets, including activity, status, next steps, and projected value.
  • Coordinate a seamless handoff with internal buying and warehouse teams for efficient onboarding of new brands and SKUs.
  • Grow relationships with onboarded brands over time by expanding SKU selection, improving terms, and pursuing exclusive arrangements.
