About The Position

Yearout Mechanical, a Legence company, specializes in the installation of mechanical and process systems for commercial, government, manufacturing, and industrial communities in New Mexico and Texas. Since 1964, Yearout Mechanical has grown to be a premier mechanical contractor in New Mexico, aiming to be invaluable to its partners by providing comfortable, reliable, and efficient mechanical systems. The Boiler Technician position is responsible for maintaining, operating, and repairing heating and cooling systems, responding to emergency service calls, and managing equipment, tools, and vehicles, as well as product removal and installation. The objective of this role is to develop a qualified, competent, and highly skilled boiler workforce, enabling successful candidates to perform tasks with minimal supervision and contribute to sales generated from field visits.

Requirements

  • Journeyman License
  • Boiler Operator License (BO1/BO2)
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Valid Drivers License and clean driving record
  • No Criminal Background
  • Proof of American Citizenship status
  • Ability to pass multiple drug and background screens
  • At least 2 years of Mechanical/Electrical Experience
  • Current work authorization in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Pipe-Fitter (JPF) or Gas-Fitter (JG / JPG) license

Responsibilities

  • Travel out of town and to various customer facilities for routine and emergency services, including federal and state facilities requiring security clearances.
  • Be available to work weekends, overtime, and nights/odd schedules.
  • Read and understand technical manuals, emails, quotations, and jobsite/tool warning labels.
  • Advance to a Lead Boiler Technician by completing all required tests, certifications, trainings, and licensing.
  • Maintain a clean-shaven and well-groomed appearance, willing to shave facial hair as per safety regulations and customer requirements.
  • Complete M.S.H.A., O.S.H.A., and other training (paid by Yearout Mechanical).
  • Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, crouch, walk, reach, stretch, see clearly and with colors to an acceptable standard, hear, touch, and write legibly.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and making repairs on pipelines (gas, water, chemical, steam, etc.), boilers, water heaters, heaters, pumps, compressors, motors, controllers, valves, heat exchangers, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain records on maintenance; oil, gas, and chemical consumption; steam and hot water production; and submit paperwork, timesheets, and work orders in a timely and legible manner.
  • Comply with all employment policies: safety, drug and alcohol, and the employee handbook, as well as customer/job specific guidelines.
  • Cooperate and work with State, City, and other inspectors, jobsite foremen, and local authorities as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in an effective and professional manner.
