About The Position

The Don “K” Detailer is responsible for performing high-quality cleaning, restoration, and finishing of new, used, and customer vehicles. This role ensures all vehicles meet dealership, manufacturer, and customer standards for appearance and cleanliness. The detailer works closely with service, sales, and reconditioning teams to prepare vehicles efficiently while maintaining strict safety and quality guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete interior and exterior detailing on all types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs.
  • Conduct thorough interior cleaning: vacuuming, carpet extraction, shampooing seats, cleaning/dressing plastics, cleaning windows, removing stains and odors.
  • Execute exterior services: washing, drying, waxing, polishing, buffing, clay bar treatments, tar and bug removal, wheel cleaning, and tire dressing.
  • Prepare vehicles for sale, delivery, service pickup, showroom display, and special events.
  • Identify paint imperfections and perform light corrective procedures such as buffing, light scratch removal, swirl correction, and polishing. See body Shop manager before any buffing or scratch removal.
  • Apply protective coatings, sealants, and dealership-approved paint or fabric protection products.
  • Conduct engine bay cleaning and dressing when requested.
  • Report any vehicle damage or cosmetic defects to management immediately.
  • Move vehicles between service lanes, detail bays, photo areas, and lot locations safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the detail bay, equipment, and chemical storage areas.
  • Follow all dealership, OSHA, and manufacturer guidelines regarding equipment use, chemical handling, and safety protocols.
  • Assist with reconditioning workflow, including staging, tagging, and documenting completed work.
  • Communicate with service advisors, and managers regarding vehicle readiness and detail quality.
  • Assist with customer vehicle deliveries by ensuring vehicles meet final inspection standards.
  • Maintain a customer-focused attitude and uphold Don “K” professionalism at all times.
