About The Position

This position functions as an experienced automotive service technician capable of diagnosing, repairing, and servicing most vehicle components with minimal supervision. The Automotive Technician performs work in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards, ensuring repairs are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently.

  • Ability to ensure repairs are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, tools, and procedures to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Ability to examine vehicles to determine additional safety or service work.
  • Ability to road test vehicles to verify repair quality and performance.
  • Clear and prompt communication skills with service advisors.
  • Ability to document all work performed and recommended on repair orders.
  • Ability to coordinate with the parts department.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment safely and in accordance with OSHA and dealership standards.
  • Ability to report safety issues, equipment defects, or hazards immediately to management.
  • Willingness to stay current with manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Willingness to participate in required training programs.
  • Adherence to all company policies, scripts, and customer service standards.
  • Professional appearance and conduct consistent with dealership standards.
  • Support for management initiatives related to revenue growth, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • High ethical standards.
  • Adherence to attendance, scheduling, and timekeeping expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Diagnose causes of vehicle malfunctions and perform required repairs.
  • Use diagnostic equipment, tools, and procedures to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Examine assigned vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Road test vehicles when required to verify repair quality and vehicle performance.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with service advisors regarding additional work needed, parts availability, and repair timelines.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on repair orders and maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts for assigned jobs.
  • Save and tag parts as required for warranty or customer requests.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and in accordance with OSHA and dealership standards.
  • Report any safety issues, equipment defects, or hazards immediately to management.
  • Keep current with manufacturer technical bulletins and participate in required training programs.
