About The Position
SingerLewak is a Top 100 accounting and consulting firm primarily operating in the western region. Serving clients since 1959, the firm provides a wide range of accounting and management consulting services and emphasizes client service, professional advancement, learning and growth, and technological evolution. Staff Auditors receive diversified auditing and accounting assignments under the supervision of different professionals. Performance is assessed based on work quality, application of auditing and accounting knowledge, and the ability to complete assignments on time. This is a nonexempt position eligible for overtime pay at time and a half of the hourly rate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or a related field.
- Must be CPA eligible and working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments and efficiently and effectively meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills.
- Basic understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Proactively seeks knowledge, new tasks, and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform audit or review procedures, or assist with other assigned projects.
- Understand clients’ businesses and industries, accounting systems, and control systems.
- Develop an understanding of SingerLewak’s audit approach.
- Assess risks and evaluate clients’ internal control structures.
- Perform and document analytical procedures, substantive tests, and tests of controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
- Review or assist in drafting financial statements and other client deliverables.
