About The Position

Withum’s Auditing services provide audit, review and compilation services, and other agreed-upon procedures to clients of varying sizes and industries. The Audit Associate role is based in the Houston, Texas office and works alongside an integrated team of experienced CPAs and industry leaders. The position offers the opportunity to build a strong team and a path to Partnership. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Licensed CPA or working toward CPA certification.
• At least 1 year of prior experience in the audit department of a public accounting firm.
• Excellent analytical, technical audit, organizational, and project management skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review client accounting records and financial statements.
• Evaluate internal accounting control systems, audit risk, materiality, and compliance with generally accepted auditing standards through inquiry, observation, and review.
• Create detailed workpapers supporting the accounting work performed.
• Work on portions of larger audit and accounting engagements.
• Collaborate with engagement team seniors or supervisors and partners to resolve client issues and make recommendations on legal, regulatory, and accounting matters arising during audit engagements.
• Proofread reports to become familiar with a wide range of report types.
• Assume full responsibility for smaller accounting engagements as proficiency increases.
