About The Position

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our pediatric hospital medicine team at Winchester Medical Center. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, well-supported environment providing care to hospitalized children and newborns in a community-focused setting. The role involves providing care in a 17-bed pediatric unit and newborn nursery, collaborating closely with pediatric hospitalists in a team-based care model, and participating in rounding, patient management, admissions, and discharge planning. Access to subspecialty support through leading institutions like the University of Virginia (UVA), INOVA, and Children’s National Hospital is available. Pediatrix also provides onsite NICU services, supporting continuity across levels of care.

Requirements

  • Current certification through National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Minimum of a master’s degree
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Experience in pediatrics, newborn care, or hospital medicine preferred
  • Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills
  • Team oriented with excellent communication abilities
  • Committed to delivering family-centered, high-quality care

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in a 17-bed pediatric unit and newborn nursery
  • Collaborate closely with pediatric hospitalists in a team-based care model
  • Work an 8-hour daytime shift, including weekends
  • Participate in rounding, patient management, admissions, and discharge planning
  • Access subspecialty support through leading institutions
