Laboratory Analyst

About The Position
Bureau Veritas is looking for a Laboratory Analyst to join their environmental laboratory in Montreal or Ste-Foy, QC. This is a contract position until Mid-December, with a possibility of extension based on business needs and performance. The role involves providing general support in sample analysis, performing complex sample preparation, and ensuring accuracy and quality of work by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The analyst will also be responsible for meeting quality control criteria, troubleshooting analyses, contributing to corrective action procedures, meeting deadlines, and maintaining equipment. The position requires using summary reports to plan and organize work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, microbiology or biology
- Experience in laboratory (strong asset)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills
- Dynamic, energetic, motivated and have a positive outlook
Responsibilities
- Provide general support in the analysis of samples, and to perform complex sample preparation
- Perform analyses on samples and complex samples preparation
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure accuracy and quality of work
- Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data
- Understand and troubleshoot analyses
- Provide input to corrective action procedures
- Ensure deadlines are met and that the equipment is appropriately maintained
- Use summary reports to plan and organize work
- Any other related tasks
