About The Position

This role involves managing airline passenger lines, ensuring efficient flow based on flight departures. The position requires monitoring flight screens for last-minute changes and communicating effectively with passengers, TSA, airline authorities, and airport officials. A key aspect is ensuring compliance with ADA laws and LAWA regulations, particularly for premium passengers.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable telephone and transportation.
  • Previous customer service experience is required.
  • Must be able to walk constantly throughout the shift; up stairs inside and outside.
  • Effectively communicate with passengers; TSA, and Airline personnel.
  • Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift and climb stairs.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and/or hold up to 70 lbs.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.
  • Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge.
  • Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
  • Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials.
  • Identification badges must always be visible.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in security, military, public contract preferred.
  • May be required to have HS diploma or GED if city ordinance mandates.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor airline passenger lines, purging them based on flight departures.
  • Pull airline Arrival Sheets and triage lines based on flight departures.
  • Monitor flight screens for last-minute changes.
  • Communicate clearly with passengers, TSA, airline, and airport authorities.
  • Monitor premium passengers to ensure adherence to ADA laws and LAWA regulations.
  • Assist passengers to ensure they make their respective flights.
  • Monitor ADA rules and regulations for adherence.
  • Monitor and challenge all employees/clients in the area designated by the client.
  • Ensure all persons/property entering and leaving the premises are properly authorized, using airport Challenge Procedures to investigate as warranted.
  • Respond timely within flight departure status, working with the TSA to ensure passengers are screened timely.
  • Immediately report any discrepancies, violations, incidents, and concerns to the supervisor/manager on duty and/or airport police personnel as needed.
  • Maintain alert and watchful observation of high traffic areas.
  • Successfully pass random tests conducted by the FAA/TSA/Airport Police.
  • Never leave your work area without being properly relieved.
  • Answer telephones and radios in a polite and professional manner.
  • Operate a computer and access systems (where applicable).
  • Complete reports in detail and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain familiarity with all Governmental/Client/Company regulations.
  • Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
  • Project a professional image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff, and public in a courteous manner.
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required.
  • Utilize appropriate communication channels and maintain records, reports, and files as required.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in the achievement of company objectives.
  • Utilize company and client equipment, supplies, and resources in a conscientious, cost-effective manner.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
