About The Position

American Bank & Trust Company is looking for a full-time Accounting Clerk for the Opelousas area. The position involves a wide range of duties including balancing general ledger accounts, official checks, reconciling bank statements, processing accounts payable, ordering and receiving supplies, and making runs to branches and post office.

Requirements

  • knowledge of accounting principles
  • knowledge of banking laws
  • good analytical and problem solving skills
  • proficient with computers especially working with EXCEL and WORD
  • good communication skills
  • able to drive a motor vehicle
  • good driving record
  • at least six months experience and/or an Associates Degree in Accounting
  • Credit check is required

Nice To Haves

  • Banking experience is a plus
