About The Position
This role supports the division’s accounting operations by assisting with month-end processes, financial reporting, and general accounting activities. The Accountant will be based out of the Revelstoke Office and report to the Accounting Manager.
Requirements
- 3 – 5 years progressive accounting experience in a full-cycle accounting environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Nice To Haves
- Diploma or post-secondary education in accounting or related field is considered an asset
- Familiarity with Sage 300 is considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Preparing and entering month-end journal entries
- Reconciling bank accounts and various general ledger accounts
- Providing intercompany reconciliations & invoices to companies within the Gorman Group
- Preparing GST, PST, and other government remittances
- Assisting with preparation of month-end financial statements
- Providing support for accounts payable and general office administration functions
- Compiling various weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports as necessary
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
