Visual Brand Lead

The job overview for the Visual Brand Lead position at Hatch is to play a key role in developing and nurturing a distinct look and feel for the visual design language of the company. This includes maintaining and expanding the design language and guidelines, leading photo and video shoots, developing iconography and typography, and setting a vision for the app UI. The Visual Brand Lead will collaborate closely with the marketing, design, product, and engineering teams to shape the creative culture at Hatch and help define the sleep space as an essential part of overall health and wellness.

• Build a solid understanding of the device ecosystem, the science of sleep, and the current visual design language
• Form strong collaborative relationships across the design, product, and marketing teams
• Capture opportunities to level up the visual brand presence across channels
• Create sketches, building blocks, and foundational elements for a visual design system
• See work come to life across different touch-points and constantly improve and update products
• Work closely with the Creative Director on Marketing to develop visual directions for web, campaigns, and product launches
• Design and launch visual updates to the core app interface to create a cohesive and delightful experience for customers
• Update the design system and integrate the visual design language with brand guidelines
• Build on learnings and design language work to develop and launch a new product
• Collaborate across design, product, and marketing teams to launch new features, products, and experiences
• Actively contribute to infusing creativity, play, and learning into the team culture

• 8+ years of visual design experience
• Strong portfolio showcasing abilities and imagination
• Proficiency in Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, and hand skills
• Experience using design research to transform customer needs and business goals into designs
• Deep understanding of color, space, typography, iconography, illustration, and communication design best practices
• Passion for creating compelling brand and visual design work
• Excitement about building a strong design culture within a fast-paced startup environment
