About The Position

The Virtual Teller Back-Up will provide excellent member service by performing accurate virtual transactions, listening, educating, and identifying members' needs. The teller will share all products/services meeting those needs to best serve the member and help the credit union prosper. This role will primarily assist with covering the Virtual Teller roles and serving in other capacities as assigned. Most transactions will be conducted virtually and on-camera in this role, specifically during times of covering for Virtual Tellers. Virtual Teller Back-Up will prioritize coverage, training, member service, and any other duties necessary for the implementation of ITMs. The Virtual Teller Back-Up position will require attention to detail, strong interpersonal; communication skills; strong on-camera presence and personality, teamwork and a proficient understanding of navigating multiple computer programs and the internet. Virtual Teller Back-Up must always maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of service.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong customer service background.
Availability 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, plus to work at alternate Branch locations if/when assigned.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of bookkeeping is preferred.
Minimum 1 year of cash handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Reflect the credit union's core values in their daily activities and at any time they represent the credit union.
Serve as back-up to the Virtual Tellers in times of coverage needs (vacation, sick, operational necessity, etc).
Prioritize completion of training for self and other Virtual Tellers and Virtual Teller Back-Ups for successful implementation of ITMs.
Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions. Maintains a professional image on-screen, ensuring focus remains on the member and not other distractions, all to ensure ideal member experience. Provides excellent member service, while maintaining a positive outlook and behavior toward members and co-workers.
Receive checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records.
Cash checks and process withdrawals; pay out money after verification of signatures and member balances.
Assist with mail or email transactions, when available.
Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services that are handled or promoted by tellers. Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related polices and procedures, rules and regulations for the teller area, including robbery procedures.
Promote, explain, and cross-serve other credit union products and services.
Receive mortgage, consumer loan, and other payments, and ensure the payments match balances due.
Enter payments into computer. Generate member receipts.
Place hold on accounts for uncollected funds.
Count, check, and package coins and currency.
Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet. Research and resolve discrepancies. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
Ensure that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc.
Report malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station.
Check night depository and record proper information according to credit union procedures.
Verbally confirm intended transactions with member to assure needs are met and minimize redoing.
Able to assist and backup duties and responsibilities of more senior positions or other positions as needed.
Provide organization-wide member service as needed by assisting with functions including, but not limited to: answering member calls, emails, and online chats.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Maintains work area in an orderly manner.
Performs other duties and works other hours as assigned.
Must be able to meet physical requirements: prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer or standing and completing training activities; must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
Full-Time employees are expected to work 40 hours per week. Part-time employees with benefits are expected to work approximately 30-39 hours per week. Part-Time employees without benefits are expected to work 25-29 hours per week.
