About The Position

Werner Enterprises offers an 11-week summer internship designed to connect classroom learning with real-world experience. The paid internship includes dedicated job training, learning opportunities, and hands-on exposure to departmental operations. It is based at the company’s Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska; some remote and off-site opportunities may be available. Interns work in a collaborative, inclusive environment and may be eligible for paid housing or housing assistance. The program includes Lessons with Leaders sessions, a mentor program, intern activities, community support events, networking, and a summer project proposal and presentation. Interns engage in departmental tasks, shadow experienced team members, contribute to process improvement, participate in customer case studies, and conduct research on industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Logistics/Transportation, Management, or Supply Chain.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Creative problem-solving ability and an analytical approach to challenges.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and project management software.

Responsibilities

Engage in departmental tasks and shadow experienced team members to learn about daily operations.
Work with team members to analyze and improve processes within the division.
Participate in customer case studies by analyzing client needs and supporting the design of customized solutions.
Conduct research on industry trends and best practices to inform decisions within the division.
Participate in the summer project proposal and presentation.
