About The Position

The Transportation Intern will work with experienced engineers and project managers and gain exposure to engineering challenges in their discipline and highway engineering software. Interns will assist with roadway and transportation projects, perform basic engineering calculations and design tasks, and participate in field visits and inspections. Full-time or part-time schedules are available depending on the candidate’s course load, at several office locations.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in and working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to interface effectively with personnel and management at all levels.
• Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of CAD and the Microsoft Office 365 Suite.

Responsibilities

• Work with experienced engineers and project managers.
• Gain exposure to engineering challenges in the intern’s discipline and to highway engineering software, including MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Assist with roadway improvements, intersection design, ADA design, bicycle facility design, site improvements, and transit facilities.
• Participate in field visits and inspections.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and design skills.
