About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Transportation Intern based in Indianapolis, Indiana, with the position expected to begin in May 2027. The internship offers undergraduate and graduate students hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects. Interns work with experienced professionals, use cutting-edge technology, learn industry practices, and develop technical and professional skills while gaining networking opportunities. The program also provides opportunities to contribute to projects related to innovation and sustainability.

The internship is intended to build practical skills beyond those gained in an academic setting and support the transition from student to professional. Interns receive duties that provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and have completed at least one year of study.
• Recent Bachelor’s degree graduates may apply if they plan to pursue a Master’s degree and were enrolled in their Bachelor’s program in the most recent school term, with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or a similar discipline after the internship.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned duties that provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience in the intern’s field of study.
• Build hands-on skills that support the transition from student to professional.
