Customer Service - Self Storage Manager
About The Position
Public Storage is hiring Property Managers to work independently across multiple locations, spending time both indoors and outdoors. The role involves assessing customers’ storage needs and making recommendations, including selling packing and moving supplies. Managers inspect storage units to verify inventory and availability, audit cash drawers, make bank deposits, and help customers stay current on payments through reminder and collection calls. They also perform cleaning and daily maintenance tasks, including sweeping and mopping interior areas and keeping exterior grounds clean and free of debris. The position requires transporting, lifting, or moving items weighing up to 35 pounds and walking around facilities for up to 50% of the time in outdoor environments, including climbing stairs and opening large doors. Employees must use their own vehicle and a valid driver’s license to travel between work locations or conduct other work-related business; mileage reimbursement is available.
Requirements
- Experience in a customer service-centered sales environment, such as retail, restaurant, fast food, or another service-based company.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to use a personal vehicle to travel between work locations or conduct other work-related business.
- Ability to transport, lift, or move items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to walk around facilities, including outdoors for up to 50% of the time, climb stairs, and open large doors.
Responsibilities
- Assess customers’ storage needs and make suggestions, including selling packing and moving supplies.

- Audit cash drawers and make bank deposits.

- Travel between properties or other work-related locations using a personal vehicle.
