About The Position

The Retail Associate – Cashier helps provide customers with an excellent shopping experience while supporting Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers’ community mission. The role welcomes customers, processes register transactions accurately, assists with purchases and pricing, and asks customers to round up their totals in support of the mission and scholarship programs. The cashier also helps maintain the sales floor and dressing room by organizing shelves, putting away carts, and returning merchandise to the sales floor. Although hired as a cashier, the employee will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work in all areas of the retail operation. This part-time position averages 20–25 hours per week, with hours and operating days varying according to business needs and store location. Employees must be available to work any shift Monday through Sunday. The position is at the Eufaula retail store in Eufaula, Alabama.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Basic math skills.
Availability to work any shift Monday through Sunday.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in retail or a customer service-related environment.
Cash-handling experience.
Warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding customer service and ensure guests have a positive shopping experience.
Assist customers with purchases and pricing.
Operate the cash register and accurately process transactions using basic math skills.
Understand item pricing and the “color of the week.”
Maintain the appearance of the sales floor and dressing room by organizing shelves, putting away carts, and returning merchandise to the sales floor.
Ask customers to round up their totals in support of the mission and/or scholarship programs.
Meet or exceed daily retail store goals.
Work in other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.
Complete cross-training and learn and work in all areas of the retail operation.
