About The Position

The Cashier checks out customers’ merchandise through POS registers and performs customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and courteously and handling merchandise with care. The role supports a pleasant, productive shopping experience by staying knowledgeable about products and advertised sales, assisting customers with buying decisions, recommending products based on their needs, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. When not operating a register, the Cashier stocks and straightens shelves and pegs in the immediate area. The position works under general supervision and uses established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
