About The Position

The Cashier checks out customers’ merchandise through POS registers and performs customer service activities. The role includes greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and helping create a pleasant and productive shopping experience. Cashiers stay knowledgeable about products and advertised sales, maintain nearby shelves and pegs when not ringing up purchases, and assist customers with buying decisions by identifying their needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
• Ability to perform tasks under general supervision using established procedures and innovation, and choose from limited alternatives to resolve problems.

• Promote programs, including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
