About The Position

The Part Time Cashier provides courteous, prompt, and attentive customer service; operates the cash register and other store machines; and supports store cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, sales controls, financial controls, security, and administrative tasks. The role requires regular and predictable onsite attendance and may involve meetings or other irregular hours. The position works primarily indoors, with some outdoor duties such as cleaning parking lots and gas pumps and taking out garbage. Work is performed with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Retail sales experience preferred.
Ability to accurately operate equipment such as cash registers, scanners, beverage dispensers, and other machines or tools.
Ability to work as scheduled and arrive on time.
Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.
Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division preferred.
Ability to perform the essential duties and physical functions of the position and work in the described conditions.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Experience in retail sales.
Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, courteous, friendly, and attentive customer service; greet customers, assist them, offer suggestions, and thank them as they leave.
Accurately ring up sales and handle cash, checks, and other forms of payment.
Operate fuel consoles, lottery machines, money order machines, telecom transaction systems, and other equipment as needed.
Arrive on time and comply with dress and appearance standards.
Clean and maintain the store and its equipment, inspect facilities and equipment for safety and proper working order, and notify the Store Manager of equipment or supply needs.
Complete merchandise ordering, receive and verify vendor deliveries, maintain and rotate stock, and place advertising and pricing signage.
Help control merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses; maintain inventory levels and perform shift audits.
Maintain accurate cash, sales, and inventory records; report discrepancies to the Store Manager and follow product breakage and spoilage guidelines.
Report incidents such as injuries, theft, property damage, sanitation issues, and unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct to the Store Manager.
Maintain shift and timekeeping paperwork and take inventory of supplies and equipment as needed.
Attend job-related meetings, provide regular onsite attendance, and perform other duties assigned by the Store Manager.
