About the position
The Program Officer - Economic Development role at LISC Indianapolis is responsible for leading grant management activities, specifically related to the ARPA grant. They will also oversee the small business programming for the new Technical Assistance Hub and collaborate with other program officers to align the work of the hub across different program areas. Additionally, the Program Officer will be involved in program impact evaluation, story-telling, and outreach efforts. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree, small business experience, grant management experience, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead all grant management activities related to the ARPA grant, including reporting, complying with deadlines, disbursements, and other grant management activities.
- Lead the small business programming related to the new Technical Assistance Hub.
- Collaborate closely with the Economic Development Program Officer leading the Capacity Building efforts in the Economic Development team.
- Collaborate closely with the Economic Development Program Officer leading the Economic Development work at LISC Indianapolis.
- Work closely with the Economic Development team to align the services offered through the Technical Assistance Hub to other LISC Economic Development programs.
- Collaborate with other LISC program officers to align the work of the Technical Assistance Hub across program areas.
- Lead program impact evaluation, story-telling, and program outreach with support from the Assistant Program Officer and Director of Marketing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, or Public Administration (advanced degree is a plus)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in small business and entrepreneurship
- Experience in grant management, including private and government grants and grant reporting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Solid business coaching experience preferred
- Commitment to an inclusive, racial-equitable, community-based, resident-driven model of community planning and development
