Product Designer, Care Finding

Alma is seeking a mission-driven Product Designer to join their team, focusing on designing tools that support people seeking high-quality, affordable mental healthcare. The ideal candidate should have 2-4 years of experience in product or user experience design, with a portfolio that demonstrates a deep understanding of user needs and creative problem-solving skills. They should be collaborative, empathetic, and strategic, comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment. The candidate should also have the ability to use research methods to learn about user problems and believe in designing accessible and usable products.

• Collaborate with a product manager, software engineers, and stakeholders to iteratively solve challenging problems
• Lead the design of scalable and innovative user experiences across multiple devices (desktop, mobile, tablet)
• Understand and advocate for user needs by leading research activities (foundational interviews, surveys, and usability tests)
• Share and advocate for your ideas with sketches, wireframes, mockups, or user journeys
• Gather and incorporate feedback from teammates and stakeholders
• Help grow Product Design as a function by contributing to our design system, establishing processes, and growing the team

• 2-4 years of experience in product or user experience design
• Portfolio with case studies demonstrating understanding of user needs and problem-solving skills
• Curious, ambitious, empathetic, and strategic designer
• Ability to work transparently and collaboratively, valuing feedback from designers and non-designers
• Proficiency in digital design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and making decisions with limited information
• Proficient in using qualitative and quantitative research methods to understand user problems
• Strong belief in designing accessible and usable products for all
