Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at Alma. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting a group of product engineers in our billing domain. Your focus will be on developing billing tools and services that empower therapists to take control of their financial future while providing excellent care to their clients. As an Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in defining Alma's features, services, and architecture. We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, a track record of shipping user-facing products, and a passion for our mission to simplify access to mental health care.

• Grow and develop a team of engineers
• Set direction for the team and anticipate strategic and company scaling challenges
• Partner with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to prioritize and deliver value to Alma members
• Engage in the recruiting and onboarding process to help grow the team
• Collaborate with the Product and Engineering team to craft technical and product strategy
• Mentor individual contributors of different seniority levels and expertise
• Jump into the code to understand, contribute, and troubleshoot technical issues
• Communicate effectively and build positive relationships across the organization
• Ship user-facing products
• Support Alma's mission to improve the experience of therapy for providers and clients and simplify access to mental health care.

• 3-5 years of engineering experience, with 1+ years people management
• Previous experience managing a team of 3 or more engineers
• Ability to mentor individual contributors of different seniority levels and expertise
• Willingness to jump into the code to understand, contribute, and troubleshoot technical issues
• Clear and engaging communication style with a track record of building positive relationships across a broad diverse organization
• Demonstrable history of shipping user-facing products
• Passion for Alma's mission to improve the experience of therapy for providers and their clients and simplify access to mental health care
