About the position
The job overview for this position is that the IT Controller will be responsible for overseeing IT control and security operations for the Product Development Team. They will manage internal controls, audit processes, budget management, contract management, incident report management, and support or lead projects related to audit and improvement actions. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the development process, system risk analysis, and microservice architecture. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English are also required.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage internal reports, policies, and procedures for internal controls
- Responsible for communicating and leading actions related to internal and external audits
- Manage the budget and operations for software and various tools used by the development team
- Manage vendor communications and actions, including negotiating and establishing or renewing formal agreements
- Monitor and investigate failures from the time of detection through recovery and identify and monitor improvements and preventative measures
- Support and/or lead projects related to audit, internal controls, and improvement actions
- Conduct IT control related operations for the Product Development Team
- Monitor and control financial activities, outsourcing contracts, etc. from the aspect of IT control and security
- Perform business administrative activities including reporting to other departments and effectively communicating with internal/external auditors
Requirements
- Good understanding of the development process and the approval process
- Good knowledge of how to analyze system risk and the impact of system failures, as well as security risk
- Ability to provide technical suggestions for assessments rather than relying on a questionnaire-style approach
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to read between the lines
- Experience responding to audits in the financial industry
- Good communication skills in English
- Knowledge of Payment Service Act and Fund Settlement businesses (preferred)
- Experience in aggregation and analysis work using SQL (preferred)
- Ability to communicate in Japanese (preferred)
