About The Position
A-MAX Insurance is hiring a full-time, in-office Insurance Sales Agent at its Riverside HEB location in Austin, Texas. The role is suited to a motivated, customer-focused person with a strong sales mentality, good organizational and interpersonal skills, and an interest in building a career in insurance. The agent helps customers understand and meet their insurance needs, supports policy servicing, and develops new business through networking and marketing. A-MAX provides intensive paid training from the start, covers licensing costs, and offers ongoing support and career advancement opportunities. The position offers hourly pay plus uncapped commission, paid weekly, along with benefits and paid time off. The role includes completing continuing education paid for by A-MAX when required to maintain an active Texas Department of Insurance license.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation for daily marketing.
- Basic computer knowledge and strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision and quickly learn company or proprietary software.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service or insurance sales experience.
- Bilingual Spanish and English.
- A valid, current Texas Limited Lines or Property & Casualty license.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with insurance needs, including new policies, policy changes, payments, renewals, reinstatements, and answering questions.
- Inspect vehicles and assess their general condition, age, and other characteristics to determine whether they represent an acceptable insurance risk.
- Seek out new clients, generate prospective-client lists, and develop a clientele through networking and marketing.
- Work with the office manager to develop marketing strategies that attract new customers.
- Perform administrative tasks, handle policy renewals, and contact underwriting to complete policies.
- Assist with daily housekeeping routines.
- Complete continuing education courses as required to maintain active license status with TDI.
