About The Position
ALPA Insurance is hiring a full-time, in-office Insurance Sales Agent at its W Veterans Memorial location in Killeen, Texas. The agent assists customers with insurance needs, including starting and editing policies, taking payments, renewals, reinstatements, and answering questions. The role also involves inspecting vehicles to assess whether they are acceptable insurance risks, finding prospective clients through networking and marketing, and working with the office manager on strategies to attract customers. Administrative duties include policy renewals and contacting underwriting to complete policies, as well as assisting with daily housekeeping routines. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation for daily marketing.
- Basic computer knowledge and strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision and quickly learn company or proprietary software.
- Complete continuing education courses as required to maintain active license status with TDI.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service or insurance sales experience; preferred but not required.
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills; preferred but not required.
- A valid, current Texas Limited Lines or Property & Casualty license; highly preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with new policies, policy changes, payments, renewals, reinstatements, and questions.
- Inspect vehicles and evaluate their general condition, age, and other characteristics to determine whether they are acceptable insurance risks.
- Seek new clients, generate prospective-client lists, and develop clientele through networking and marketing.
- Work with the office manager to develop marketing strategies to attract new customers.
- Perform administrative tasks, handle policy renewals, and contact underwriting to complete policies.
- Assist with daily housekeeping routines.
- Complete continuing education courses as required to maintain an active license with TDI.
