About The Position

Horace Mann is seeking an Insurance Agent in Roanoke, Virginia. The role offers insurance professionals the opportunity to build an agency serving educators and support their financial prosperity. Agents receive competitive, performance-based 1099 compensation and a 48-month incentive package, including activity-based earning incentives and quarterly production incentives. Support includes a dedicated Premier Service Representative for client service work, a niche market, technology and continued training, a multiline product portfolio, and market and relationship-building programs.

Success in the role depends on finding and implementing solutions for educators, developing market access and strong relationships, communicating product information to groups and individuals, participating in networking and community, sales, and industry events, and devoting the time and resources needed to establish a successful business.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong business management skills while building an agency.
• Resident state General Lines Insurance Licenses: Life and Health Insurance License and Property and Casualty Insurance License.
• Obtain FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses if applicable in certain regions.

• 2–5 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry preferred.
