Chainguard
•$140,000 - $167,500•Remote

About The Position

Chainguard is hiring a technical Growth Marketing Manager to help ensure developers discover, recommend, and use Chainguard through search engines, LLMs, and coding agents. This is a builder role measured by signups and pipeline, with responsibility for moving work forward across Product, Product Marketing, Growth, Web, and Paid Media. The role owns Chainguard’s SEO program end to end, including keyword strategy, content, programmatic pages, and technical optimization. It also works to improve Chainguard’s visibility in AI assistants and search summaries through content, structured data, and third-party sources, tracking citations and recommendations. For coding agents, the manager maps and improves the adoption journey, partners with Product on agent-facing tools and documentation, and ensures Chainguard is listed where agents look. The manager runs evaluations of real developer prompts across models and coding agents, identifies which assets lead to recommendations and usage, and builds attribution connecting organic, AI-referred, and agent-originated signups to pipeline.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in growth, developer marketing, or technical product, with measurable funnel ownership for technical audiences.
  • Hands-on SEO and AEO experience, including technical SEO, keyword strategy, content, and measurement.
  • Terminal fluency and advanced SQL skills.
  • Ability to build a working MCP server or agent skill and use data to answer questions independently.
  • Regular use of coding agents and informed opinions on how agents choose tools and where they fail.
  • Track record of driving work through cross-functional partners without direct authority in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cybersecurity or the cloud-native ecosystem, including containers, Kubernetes, or software supply chain security.

Responsibilities

  • Own Chainguard’s SEO program, including keyword strategy, content, programmatic pages, and technical optimization.
  • Partner with Web and Product Marketing to convert high-intent traffic into signups, demos, and pipeline.
  • Improve Chainguard’s visibility and recommendations in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews using content, structured data, and relevant third-party sources.
  • Track how often Chainguard is cited and recommended by AI systems, and grow that visibility.
  • Map the coding-agent adoption journey—from discovery and authentication through pulling, building, and verification—and remove friction at each step.
  • Partner with Product to build and maintain an MCP server, Agent Skills, plugins, CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md snippets, llms.txt, and agent-readable quickstarts.
  • Ensure Chainguard’s agent-facing resources are listed where coding agents look.
  • Run evaluations of real developer prompts across models and coding agents to identify which assets lead to Chainguard being recommended and used.
  • Build attribution connecting organic, AI-referred, and agent-originated signups to pipeline.
  • Drive cross-functional work with Product, Product Marketing, Growth, Web, and Paid Media partners.

Benefits

  • Remote-first culture with team meetup opportunities and bi-annual destination summits.
  • Monthly stipend for coworking spaces, phone, and internet costs.
  • Stock options upon hire and promotion; participation in secondary offerings; 10 years to exercise options.
  • 100% coverage of health, vision, and dental insurance premiums for employees and dependents.
  • Flexible time off.
  • Paid parental leave: 18 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, usable at once or throughout the child’s first year.
