Field Marketing Manager

Schurz Communications•Denver, CO

About The Position

OTAVA is seeking a strategic Field Marketing Manager to own its event calendar and field marketing strategy, deciding where the company participates across trade shows, conferences, executive dinners, roundtables, customer events, and partner events. The role brings operational rigor to event programs and ensures leads are tracked through the funnel to closed-won revenue. It works closely with Sales, BDRs, Channel, Demand Generation, and Product Marketing to turn events into a measurable, repeatable pipeline engine. The manager owns event selection, planning, execution, lead management, attribution, budget allocation, and performance reporting. The role also plans and runs OTAVA’s annual sales kickoff and other internal events, and leverages AI tools to accelerate planning, campaign development, and reporting.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of B2B field or event marketing experience.
  • Proven experience owning an event calendar and strategy, including evaluating and selecting events based on ROI.
  • Experience building lead tracking and attribution processes that connect events to pipeline and closed-won revenue.
  • Experience partnering with Sales, BDR, and Channel teams, including on partner events.
  • Strong event lifecycle knowledge, including sponsorship evaluation, logistics, vendor management, and on-site execution.
  • Strong working knowledge of HubSpot for campaign setup, lead management, funnel reporting, and attribution.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to measure and communicate event ROI and revenue impact.
  • Strong budget management and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent events.
  • Highly collaborative and proactive, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • B2B field or event marketing experience within cloud, IT services, or SaaS.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Own OTAVA’s annual event calendar and field marketing strategy, including regional programs aligned with sales territories, priority markets, target accounts, verticals, and revenue goals.
  • Evaluate industry events, conferences, and sponsorships based on audience fit, cost, expected pipeline, and Sales feedback; recommend investments to revenue leadership.
  • Refine the event mix using performance data, reducing investment in low-return events and increasing investment in programs that drive pipeline and revenue.
  • Plan and execute trade shows, conferences, sponsored events, executive dinners, roundtables, and customer and partner events.
  • Manage event operations end to end, including vendor selection and negotiation, booths, registration, travel, branded merchandise, event assets and inventory, and lead capture, while staying within budget.
  • Plan and run the annual sales kickoff and other internal events.
  • Define event goals and prepare staff briefs, including target accounts, messaging, and talk tracks, in partnership with Product Marketing.
  • Establish and maintain event lead processes, including lead capture standards, HubSpot campaign setup, lead uploads and routing, and campaign attribution.
  • Track event leads from capture through MQL, SQL, opportunity, and closed-won, maintaining clean data and clear attribution of event-sourced and event-influenced revenue.
  • Partner with Demand Generation and BDRs on pre-event targeting and post-event follow-up, and ensure follow-up is completed within agreed timeframes.
  • Own the field marketing and events budget and allocate investment across events and programs.
  • Build dashboards and provide post-event and quarterly reports on attendance, meetings, leads, pipeline, closed-won revenue, and ROI by event.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate event planning, campaign development, and reporting.
