About The Position

The Email Marketing Manager will own hands-on execution of a high-volume fall email program in HubSpot for two SaaS products serving political campaigns. The role partners with a full-time Email Strategist, who sets strategy and targeting, while the manager builds, quality-checks, schedules, and sends emails. Email is the primary channel for re-engaging and onboarding customers, and fixed send dates and high volume through Election Day make accurate, timely execution essential. This is a remote role requiring work during EST hours. The commitment is approximately 25 hours per week for about three months, starting as soon as possible, with potential for extension. The hourly rate is $50–$58. Candidates must be advanced HubSpot users with strong hands-on experience; experience only with other platforms does not meet the stated requirement.

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of hands-on email marketing execution; the posting specifies 2–4+ years.
  • Advanced, hands-on HubSpot experience, including building emails, workflows and automations, lists, and segments; HubSpot power-user experience is required.
  • Rigorous QA habits covering links, personalization tokens, rendering, and audience logic.
  • Working knowledge of deliverability best practices.
  • Experience managing a high-volume send calendar on tight, fixed deadlines.
  • Clear communication and ability to work autonomously with a busy strategist.
  • Alignment with the mission of supporting Democratic and progressive candidates and causes.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic HTML/CSS skills for email templates.
  • Experience with lifecycle or onboarding programs for a product with a free-to-paid or activation model.
  • A/B testing experience with subject lines, content, and send timing.
  • A strong SaaS background is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build, QA, and schedule HubSpot activation sends, including conversion, texting (10DLC) registration, GOTV, and early-voting campaigns.
  • Build and maintain automated, triggered flows, including drop-off recovery and onboarding nurtures that guide new signups to a published campaign website.
  • Execute election-timed sends to customer audiences in the final stretch before Election Day.
  • Build and maintain segmented target lists in partnership with the data team.
  • Own the fall send calendar, QA process, and deliverability checks.
  • Report on send performance against engagement goals of 30%+ open rate and 4%+ click rate, and flag what is working.
  • Work autonomously with the Email Strategist and keep fixed-date sends on schedule.
