About The Position

The Email Marketing Manager will own hands-on execution of a high-volume fall email program in HubSpot for two SaaS products serving political campaigns. Working with a full-time Email Strategist who sets strategy and targeting, the manager will build, quality-check, schedule, and send emails and automated flows. The role requires independent, fast-paced work to keep a fixed send calendar on track and ensure sends are accurate, especially as volume peaks through Election Day. This is a remote role requiring work during EST hours, approximately 25 hours per week, for about three months starting as soon as possible, with potential for extension. The stated compensation is $50–$58 per hour in the compensation section; the posting also lists a rate of $50–$55 per hour.

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of hands-on email marketing execution, ideally at a SaaS company.
  • Strong HubSpot experience is required, including building emails, workflows and automations, lists, and segments; the client is considering only candidates who have previously been HubSpot power users.
  • Rigorous quality-assurance habits covering links, personalization tokens, rendering, and audience logic.
  • Working knowledge of deliverability best practices.
  • Experience managing a high-volume send calendar on tight, fixed deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work autonomously with a busy strategist.
  • Alignment with the client's mission of supporting Democratic and progressive candidates and causes.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic HTML/CSS for email templates.
  • Experience with lifecycle or onboarding programs for a product with a free-to-paid or activation model.
  • A/B testing experience with subject lines, content, and send timing.
  • Strong SaaS background is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build, QA, and schedule HubSpot activation emails, including conversion, texting (10DLC) registration, GOTV, and early-voting campaigns.
  • Build and maintain automated, triggered flows, including drop-off recovery and onboarding nurtures that guide new signups to a published campaign website.
  • Execute election-timed sends across customer audiences in the final stretch before Election Day.
  • Build and maintain segmented target lists in partnership with the data team.
  • Own the fall send calendar, quality-assurance process, and deliverability checks.
  • Report send performance against engagement goals of 30%+ open rate and 4%+ click rate, and flag what is working.
