About The Position

The Email Marketing Manager will own hands-on execution of a high-volume fall email program in HubSpot for two SaaS products serving political campaigns. The role partners with a full-time Email Strategist who sets strategy and targeting; the manager builds, quality-checks, schedules, and sends emails. Email is the primary channel for re-engaging and onboarding customers, and sends have fixed dates that peak through Election Day. The position requires independent, timely execution and careful quality control. The role is approximately 25 hours per week for about three months, starting as soon as possible, with a potential extension. It is remote, but the person must work EST hours. The rate is $50–$55 per hour.

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of hands-on email marketing execution; SaaS company experience is ideal.
  • Strong HubSpot experience is required, including building emails, workflows, automations, lists, and segments. The client is only considering candidates who have been HubSpot power users.
  • Rigorous quality-assurance habits covering links, personalization tokens, rendering, and audience logic.
  • Working knowledge of email deliverability best practices.
  • Experience managing a high-volume send calendar on tight, fixed deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work autonomously with a busy strategist.
  • Alignment with the client’s mission of supporting Democratic and progressive candidates and causes.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic HTML/CSS skills for email templates.
  • Experience with lifecycle or onboarding programs for a product with a free-to-paid or activation model.
  • A/B testing experience involving subject lines, content, and send timing.
  • A strong SaaS background is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build, quality-check, and schedule HubSpot activation sends, including conversion, texting (10DLC) registration, GOTV, and early-voting campaigns.
  • Build and maintain automated, triggered flows, including drop-off recovery and onboarding nurtures that guide new signups toward publishing a campaign website.
  • Execute election-timed sends to customer audiences in the final stretch before Election Day.
  • Build and maintain segmented target lists in partnership with the data team.
  • Own the fall send calendar, quality-assurance process, and deliverability checks.
  • Report on send performance against engagement goals of 30%+ open rate and 4%+ click rate, and flag what is working.
