About the position
The job overview for the Director of People Technology role is to develop and execute Flexport's people technology strategy, ensuring it aligns with the company's growth and talent acquisition goals. The director will oversee the implementation and optimization of HR systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide leadership to a team of HR technology professionals. They will also stay updated with industry best practices, evaluate emerging HR technology trends, and ensure data privacy and security compliance. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of HR systems, strong analytical and project management skills, and excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Flexport’s people technology strategy in alignment with overall People and business goals
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Flexport’s People Team systems
- Collaborate with the People Team, IT, business leaders, vendors, and stakeholders to define requirements, manage system integrations, and execute project plans effectively
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of HR technology professionals
- Stay updated with industry best practices and leverage technology advancements to enhance people processes
- Identify emerging HR technology trends and evaluate their potential impact on the organization
- Ensure the seamless integration and data integrity between different HR systems
- Ensure HR technology systems comply with data privacy regulations and maintain the highest standards of data security
- Implement and enforce appropriate data governance practices, including data retention, access controls, and user permissions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in HR technology management, preferably in a leadership capacity.
- Deep understanding of HR systems, such as HRIS, ATS, LMS, and related technologies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and delivering HR technology initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and HR compliance requirements.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Proactive and forward-thinking mindset, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
