Digital Marketing Lead

Codal•Chicago, IL

About The Position

Codal is hiring a hands-on Digital Marketing Lead to own demand generation across paid, organic and AI search, directories, partners, email and social. The role owns pipeline contribution from digital channels, defines channel budgets and targets, establishes the operating cadence, and reports lead volume, cost per qualified lead and pipeline influence to leadership. The Lead partners with Sales to define qualified leads, implement scoring and routing in HubSpot, and hand qualified leads to SDRs with the context needed to convert them. The Lead directs Codal’s GEO, AIEO and SEO specialists and sets the strategy for the company’s visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and traditional search. The role also runs technical and content programs, including entity and schema work, citation and source building, answer-engine content, and measurement of AI-driven visibility. This is a builder role: the Lead is expected to remain hands-on with campaign briefs, campaigns, analytics, funnel optimization and marketing tools. The Lead hires, onboards and manages a digital marketing team across paid, SEO, GEO, email and marketing operations, along with agency and contractor partners. They build the team’s systems and workflows, coach hands-on marketers, and work across Sales, practice and industry leadership, content, events and partner marketing to turn go-to-market priorities into coordinated campaigns. The role is based on a hybrid schedule from Codal’s Chicago headquarters, with three days per week required. The stated base salary range is $120,000 to $160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
