CULINARY SERVICES ASSISTANT
About The Position
Join the Culinary Services team at Lakeview Health Center & Assisted Living in West Salem, Wisconsin, and help create positive dining experiences for residents. This hands-on role is suited to someone who enjoys staying active, working on a team, and making a meaningful impact each day. The position is part-time, with 67 hours per pay period, and includes an every-other-weekend schedule and holiday rotation. Starting pay is $18.51 per hour, plus shift and weekend differentials. The role involves preparing and portioning food for meals and tray service, following diet instructions, maintaining food and kitchen safety, cleaning, and supporting delivery storage. Requirements
- Ability to read and follow instructions.
- Knowledge of safe food handling, or willingness to learn.
- Strong work habits, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to stay organized and work efficiently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Background check required under Wisconsin Caregiver Law.
Nice To Haves
- Food service experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion food for meals and tray service.
- Follow diet cards and special diet instructions.
- Label, date, store, and rotate food items.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas and equipment.
- Wash dishes using a machine or a three-compartment sink.
- Unpack, date, and store food and supply deliveries.
- Follow food safety, infection control, and facility standards.
- Interact respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors.
