About The Position
The Catering Supervisor coordinates patient meal service and special requests or needs for the Catering to You Program. The role ensures employees are adequately trained and units are properly staffed, and oversees systems and processes to meet the program’s strategic and operational objectives. The supervisor works with nursing staff to evaluate patient meal selection, tray completion, delivery, and retrieval, and responds to patient needs and concerns. The position follows patient confidentiality and rights policies, regulatory standards, and food-safety procedures.
Requirements
- Prior catering experience required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee systems and processes to accomplish the strategic and operational objectives of the Catering to You service.
- Supervise catering associates.
- Provide menu alternatives as allowed by prescribed diets, considering food allergies and sensitivities, and cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences when patients request or need additional selections.
- Interact with nursing and evaluate daily patient meal selection, tray completion, tray delivery, and tray retrieval processes.
- Respond to patients’ needs and resolve concerns or complaints immediately, or report concerns to a supervisor as appropriate.
- Follow facility confidentiality and patient-rights policies as outlined in HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Comply with federal, state, and JCAHO regulatory agency standards.
- Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure food quality and safety.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and logs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
