About The Position

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a full-time Catering Supervisor to assist management with all aspects of catering operations at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. The role involves supporting staff and event operations to ensure high-quality service and presentation. The work environment is fast-paced, team-oriented, and high-energy, with opportunities for growth and career advancement. The position requires availability for varied hours, including evenings and weekends, and pays $20 per hour.

Requirements

Associate’s degree or a minimum of two years of supervisory experience in food service (back of house or front of house) is preferred.
Working knowledge of catering operations.
Demonstrated experience promoting and driving a catering program.
Drive to provide exceptional service.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Emerging leadership skills and a strong customer service orientation.
Ability to work collaboratively while fostering strong client and customer relationships.
ServSafe Food Handlers Certification, or ability to obtain it within six months of employment.
Ability to work nights and weekends.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Assist management in training and supervising staff during catered events to ensure high-quality service standards and presentations.
Greet and welcome guests and respond to specific requests courteously.
Serve and replenish beverages and food, and remove dishes and utensils at the end of each course, meal, or function.
Monitor and supervise setup and maintenance of the dining area and food stations to ensure quality standards.
Participate in event cleanup and assist with inventory, food storage, and other closeout tasks.
Foster an inclusive environment for staff and guests while maintaining effective client- and customer-centered relationships.
