About The Position

As a Lowe's cashier, you help ensure every customer has a positive checkout experience by providing quick, friendly service and helping customers get the best value for their money. The role primarily involves working at the register, answering customer questions, and assisting with payments and exchanges. As needed, you may also help other departments, stock shelves, or move carts. The job is suited to someone who enjoys helping customers and solving problems in a fast-paced environment.

The position does not require regular travel, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Working conditions vary by location and may include indoor and outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, wet or humid conditions, wind or drafts, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting guidelines limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed, and powered equipment should be used as required with proper training or assistance.

Requirements

• Read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Ability to minimally lift 10 pounds unassisted or over 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law in the state.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience.
• Proactively assist customers in the self-checkout area.
