About The Position
As a Lowe’s cashier, you help customers finish their shopping experience with a quick, friendly checkout and assist them in getting the best value for their money. Most of your time is spent at the register, but you may also help other departments, stock shelves, or move carts as needed. The role involves answering customer questions, assisting with payments and exchanges, and helping maintain a clean and safe workstation. The position may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and climate conditions, exposure to noise and moving or shaking equipment, and occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. The job title specifies an opening shift.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
- Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Ability to minimally lift 10 pounds unassisted or over 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law in the employee’s state.
- Follow lifting guidelines, which limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
