About The Position
Bon Appétit Management Company is hiring a full-time cashier at Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California. The cashier performs sales and cash-handling transactions, maintains accurate cash drawers and reports, and provides friendly customer service. The role may also include general food service work and maintaining sanitation in preparation, service, and dining areas. The schedule is five days a week, with hours that may vary. The fixed pay rate is $26.73 per hour.
Requirements
- Previous barista experience is required.
- Previous hospitality experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform sales transactions promptly and enter sales into the register accurately.
- Make change, accept declining balance cards and other approved payments, and issue receipts.
- Follow standard procedures for cash refunds.
- Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Manage assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring cash drawers meet overage and shortage standards.
- Observe customer purchases in the café line and distinguish standard portions.
- Replenish condiments, coffee, beverages, and other supplies while keeping service areas clean.
- Keep the pastry case stocked.
- Follow company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
- Comply with sanitation, ServSafe, and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
