About The Position

As a member of Torchy’s Hospitality Team, the Cashier/Runner helps create a welcoming, memorable guest experience. The role includes greeting guests, understanding their needs, taking accurate and efficient orders, making menu recommendations, running food, and helping maintain clean and inviting guest areas. The Cashier/Runner works with managers, kitchen staff, and the Hospitality Team to resolve problems and provide smooth service. The role requires a friendly, adaptable approach, attentive listening, clear communication, and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler’s and Alcohol Server certifications; certifications must be obtained by the first day or within the timeline required by the location.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand for several hours and walk for long periods.
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, and reach for objects on shelves of varying heights.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of customer service work experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry.
• Two years of experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, ask questions to understand their needs, offer suggestions, and process transactions quickly and accurately.
• Provide outstanding hospitality and help guests feel welcomed and valued.
• Learn the menu and current promotions to make personalized recommendations that account for guest preferences and dietary needs.
• Run food to tables, check orders for accuracy and timeliness, offer refills on chips and drinks, and look for opportunities to exceed guest expectations.
• Keep guest-facing restaurant areas neat, clean, organized, and inviting.
• Collaborate with managers, kitchen staff, and the Hospitality Team to resolve problems and ensure smooth, efficient service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
