About The Position

The Cashier/Runner is part of Torchy’s Hospitality Team and helps create a welcoming, memorable guest experience. This role greets guests, takes and processes orders, provides menu recommendations, runs food, supports guests during their meal, and keeps guest-facing areas clean and inviting. The Cashier/Runner works with managers, kitchen staff, and the Hospitality Team to resolve problems and provide smooth, efficient service. The position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to meet applicable food-handler and alcohol-server certification requirements.

Requirements

• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler’s and Alcohol Server certifications; certifications must be obtained by the first day or within the timeline required by the location.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand for several hours and walk for long periods.
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves of varying heights.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of work experience providing customer service in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry.
• Two years of experience using point-of-sale systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, understand their needs, offer suggestions, and process transactions quickly and accurately using the point-of-sale system.
• Provide outstanding hospitality and help guests feel welcomed and valued.
• Learn the menu and current promotions to make personalized recommendations, including recommendations suited to guests’ preferences and dietary needs.
• Run food to tables accurately and promptly.
• Proactively offer refills on chips and drinks and look for ways to exceed guest expectations.
• Keep guest-facing restaurant areas neat, clean, organized, and inviting.
• Work collaboratively with managers, kitchen staff, and the Hospitality Team to resolve problems and provide smooth service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
