About The Position

As a member of Torchy’s Hospitality Team, the Cashier/Runner helps create a welcoming guest experience by greeting guests, taking and processing orders, making recommendations, running food, and keeping guest-facing areas clean and inviting. The role works collaboratively with managers, kitchen staff, and other Hospitality Team members to resolve problems and provide smooth, efficient service. Team members are expected to communicate warmly and clearly, listen to guest needs, adapt to changing situations, and pay close attention to order accuracy and individual guest preferences.

Requirements

• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler’s and Alcohol Server certifications.
• Required certification(s) must be obtained by the first day or within the timeline required by the location.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand for several hours and walk for long periods.
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves of varying heights.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of customer service work experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry.
• Two years of experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, ask questions to understand their needs, offer suggestions, and process transactions quickly and accurately.
• Provide outstanding hospitality and help guests feel welcomed and valued.
• Learn the menu and current promotions to make personalized recommendations that account for guest preferences and dietary needs.
• Run food to tables promptly and accurately.
• Proactively offer refills on chips and drinks and look for opportunities to exceed guest expectations.
• Keep guest-facing restaurant areas neat, clean, organized, and inviting.
• Collaborate with managers, kitchen staff, and the Hospitality Team to resolve problems and provide efficient service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
