About the position
The job overview for the Design Lead position at Realtor.com® is to oversee the design details and design thinking in the Brand marketing group. The Design Lead will be responsible for setting the visual vision for the brand, defining frameworks and best practices, and guiding the team to build on them. They will work closely with the Head of Brand and Creative to solve complex communications challenges and use design as a tool to compel people into action and change the way they think about Realtor.com. The Design Lead will also lead a team of designers, set frameworks and standards, and continuously evolve the design language and principles.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of designers through influence and inspiration
- Set the frameworks and standards for teams to follow, optimizing for efficiency
- Evangelize design consistency across the organization, working tightly with product design
- Act on opportunities where design can elevate product or marketing
- Continuously evolve our design language, principles, and guidelines
- Explore and evangelize new ways of working, new design workflows, and tools
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7+ years experience at in-house studio or agency
- Best-in-class design portfolio demonstrating strategic design thinking
- Highest design standards and inspired level of "taste"
- Expert communicator with colleagues and stakeholders
- Experience setting frameworks for complex design problems
- Technical champion with an obsessive attention to detail
- Self-starter, with something to prove
- Nice to have: Figma, Adobe AfterEffects
- Nice to have: Front-end experience with HTML, CSS, and JS standards
- Nice to have: Illustration skills
