Principal Engineer - Enterprise Systems

The job overview for the Principal Engineer - Enterprise Systems position at Realtor.com® is to provide technology leadership and oversight of the project portfolio, design efficient and effective solutions for complex problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive the evolution of system architectures. The ideal candidate should have deep solution architecture experience, strategic thinking abilities, and a strong understanding of SaaS business applications and security. They will be responsible for assessing business requirements, documenting processes and architectures, and delivering cross-platform solutions. Additionally, they will provide architectural guidance and make recommendations for third-party integrations.

Responsible for providing technology leadership and oversight of the project portfolio consisting of multiple, cross-functional projects of varying complexities, in support of strategic business initiatives.

Design systems and/or processes that provide efficient, effective solutions for diverse, complex problems.

Collaborate with the team to assess the cross functional impacts of business decisions across the Enterprise ecosystem and provide input on IT processes and procedures affecting the team.

Partner with the user community, including executives, to identify their business requirements; analyze business processes; analyze source data; produce functional specifications, data flows and business rules; and assist with the implementation of those specifications.

Document business process flows, UML diagrams, and corresponding applications architecture.

Drive and Deliver cross-platform solutions as per business requirements.

Define and maintain current and future state system and application architectures, frameworks and roadmaps and also identify gaps between current and desired end-states.

Understand and communicate functionality, identify risks, manage change and design solutions that are efficient, scalable and cost-effective.

Provide architectural guidance and drive the evolution of Master Data Management systems, policies, data flows and algorithms.

Recommend build vs buy when It comes to third party integrations for Salesforce and AWS.

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
• 10+ years work experience in application development and architecture roles
• Deep solution architecture experience
• Understanding of emerging technical trends and innovation

• Deep understanding of SaaS business applications, security, and architectural patterns
