About the position
The job overview for the Principal Engineer - Enterprise Systems position at Realtor.com® is to provide technology leadership and oversight of the project portfolio, design efficient and effective solutions for complex problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive the evolution of system architectures. The ideal candidate should have deep solution architecture experience, strategic thinking abilities, and a strong understanding of SaaS business applications and security. They will be responsible for assessing business requirements, documenting processes and architectures, and delivering cross-platform solutions. Additionally, they will provide architectural guidance and make recommendations for third-party integrations.

Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
- 10+ years work experience in application development and architecture roles
- Deep solution architecture experience
- Understanding of emerging technical trends and innovation
- Strategic thought process
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to influence senior leadership
- Deep understanding of SaaS business applications, security, and architectural patterns
- Experience in providing technology leadership and oversight of project portfolios
- Ability to design systems and/or processes for diverse, complex problems
- Collaboration skills to assess cross-functional impacts of business decisions
- Ability to analyze business processes and produce functional specifications
- Proficiency in documenting business process flows, UML diagrams, and applications architecture
- Experience in driving and delivering cross-platform solutions
- Ability to define and maintain system and application architectures, frameworks, and roadmaps
- Understanding of functionality, risks, change management, and cost-effectiveness in solution design
- Knowledge of Master Data Management systems, policies, data flows, and algorithms
- Experience in recommending build vs buy for third-party integrations
- Familiarity with integration patterns and ensuring secure and sustainable integration of business applications
- Proficiency in leading solution design, project proposals, proof-of-concepts, and solution implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
