About the position
The job overview for this role is that DoorDash is seeking a strong leader within Sales Strategy- Sales Planning & Incentives to execute top company business objectives and help define the sales strategy and planning roadmap. The role involves combining strategic planning and analysis with operational execution, including designing incentives, compensation plans, and driving plan implementation. The successful candidate will bring a strategic mindset, deliver critical insights, and proactively build partnerships while administering sales incentive programs globally. They will report to the Senior Manager of Sales Strategy and Planning within the Sales Planning & Incentives organization.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with sales leadership, sales strategy, finance, and product teams to develop and implement sales incentive structures
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to build and maintain forecast models that drive sales goals
- Continuously assess business performance and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement
- Set and track accurate quota targets across various sales organizations
- Incorporate new products into sales organizations by designing GTM strategy and goals/incentives
- Translate data into effective narratives and create visualization reports to track sales commissions and business performance
- Focus on standardization and automation of quota, incentive design, and commissions tracking processes
- Become the subject matter expert on sales data, sales incentives, and the sales process for each business unit supported
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and succeed in a complex and fast-moving environment
- Deliver actionable recommendations from complex datasets and have strong analytical thinking skills
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset and thrive in a fast-paced, changing work environment
- Exhibit curiosity, innovation, and a willingness to share the company's vision and direction
- Build relationships and influence people at all levels across various job functions
- Independently translate high-level goals into actionable plans
- Have experience working with sales organizations (nice to have)
- Have experience with sales incentive design (nice to have)
- Have experience with Incentive Management tools (e.g. Anaplan) (nice to have)
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in sales/business planning, strategy & operations, business consulting, or analytics
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and hitting goals
- Excellent analytical thinking skills and ability to deliver actionable recommendations from complex datasets
- Strong SQL experience and familiarity with Salesforce/Excel
- Expert communication and interpersonal skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias towards action and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Naturally curious and always looking for ways to innovate and improve
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to influence and motivate people at all levels
- Problem-solving skills and ability to translate high-level goals into actionable plans
