About The Position

Emplify Health is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Rep for its Customer Financial Service Center. The role audits guarantor accounts to resolve billing issues and help patients with billing and insurance questions. It includes managing inbound and outbound calls, assisting with payment plans, processing payments, and providing information about charity programs.

The position is full-time at 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. It is based in Onalaska and may be remote eligible after on-site training. The starting wage is $19.05 per hour, with potential increases based on experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• One year of work experience.
• Strong communication, customer service, and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in a medical facility, insurance company, or office setting is preferred.
• Healthcare background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and resolve customer issues and patient inquiries about accounts, charges, and procedures through effective communication.
• Educate patients about financial responsibilities, including payment arrangements, insurance processing, and self-pay balances.
• Document actions taken on patient accounts in the billing system and review accounts for discrepancies.
• Verify demographic and insurance information while complying with patient privacy laws, including HIPAA.
• Provide information about financial assistance programs.
• Recommend improvements based on observed trends and issues.
• Audit guarantor accounts to resolve billing issues.
• Assist with payment plans and process payments.
