About The Position

Davis Chevrolet is seeking an Accounts Payable / Receivable Clerk to join its team. The dealership is family owned and has been in business since 1959. The role handles daily cash and credit-card postings, payment processing, account reconciliations, vendor follow-up, collections, journal entries, purchase orders, and month-end accounting tasks. Requirements

Basic accounting experience.
Ability to use a computer and CDK and other automotive systems.
Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
Computer literacy and intermediate Microsoft Excel experience.
Must pass a drug and background test.

Nice To Haves

At least 1–2+ years of automotive dealership accounts payable experience or experience in other back-office roles.

Responsibilities

Post cash deposits and credit-card payments daily.
Work with the service, parts, and sales departments to reconcile items and follow up as needed.
Reconcile maintenance payments and ensure payments are received on time.
Process payments to vendors and suppliers in a timely manner.
Process and reconcile manufacturers’ statements.
Ensure billings are accurate and paid on time.
Research and resolve discrepancies.
Interact with vendors to verify billings.
Prepare and manage daily deposits and cash receipts.
Manage accounts receivable and work with vendors on collections.
Reconcile the cash schedule and assist with monthly closings.
Reconcile selected accounts and schedules monthly before month-end.
Post manual journal entries and other required postings.
Issue purchase orders for supplies and invoices, monitor the automated purchase order system, and void or correct errors.
Complete end-of-month accounting reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
