About The Position

Outdoor Equipment Co. is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounts payable operations and the financial team across multiple dealership locations. The role is based at the company’s Ray, Michigan location and focuses on accurate invoice and payment processing, vendor account management, and support for reconciliations, reporting, and month-end procedures. The position also involves identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.

Requirements

• Previous accounts payable or accounting experience.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Dependable, consistent attendance and punctuality, subject to applicable leave and accommodation requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Lightspeed dealership management/accounting software.
• Dealership, equipment, or inventory-based business experience.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage vendor invoices and payments.
• Monitor invoice due dates and accounts payable aging.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Track vendor credits, rebates, and returns.
• Maintain accurate accounting records across multiple locations.
• Assist with monthly reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Support month-end accounting procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
